JUST IN: On ‘Not Gonna Lie’ Podcast, Kelly Kelce Offers Insight on What Not to Say to New Moms Just Days After Giving Birth to Fourth Daughter

Kelly Kelce Gets Candid on Podcast: “Here’s What You Should and Shouldn’t Say to a New Mom” — Just Days After Welcoming Baby No. 4, Finnley Ann
Just days after giving birth to her fourth daughter, Finnley Ann Kelce, with NFL husband Jason Kelce, Kelly Kelce returned to her podcast Not Gonna Lie with Kelly Kelce — and she didn’t hold back.
In a raw and relatable episode, the mom of four took the opportunity to speak openly about what new moms actually need in those first few vulnerable days postpartum — and more importantly, what they don’t need to hear.
“Look, I’m running on love, hormones, and not a lot of sleep,” Kelly said with a laugh, before turning serious. “But I feel like this needs to be said. People don’t always realize how their words land when you’re physically healing, emotionally adjusting, and trying to keep a newborn alive.”
“Let’s Start With What Not to Say…”
Kelly began the segment by listing some of the most common — and unintentionally hurtful — comments she says new moms hear far too often:
• “You look tired.”
• “Are you sure she’s eating enough?”
• “When are you going to bounce back?”
• “Wow, you’ve got your hands full.”
“They’re not meant to be mean,” she acknowledged, “but they hit in all the wrong places when you’re freshly postpartum. What a mom really needs is encouragement, not commentary.”
What New Moms Actually Want to Hear
Instead, Kelly encouraged friends and family to show up with compassion and practical support. “A simple ‘You’re doing amazing,’ or ‘How can I help?’ goes so much further than you think,” she said. “Also — food. Always bring food.”
She also touched on the loneliness many new mothers feel, even when surrounded by well-meaning people.
“You can have a beautiful, healthy baby and still be emotionally overwhelmed. Both can exist,” she explained. “People forget the mom just went through a major physical and emotional shift too.”
Balancing Motherhood and the Spotlight
Kelly’s authenticity continues to win hearts across social media. Married to Super Bowl champ and NFL fan-favorite Jason Kelce, she’s maintained a refreshingly grounded presence, even as her family steps further into the public eye. The couple, already parents to Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett, welcomed baby Finnley Ann just days before this most recent podcast episode aired.
Despite the sleepless nights, Kelly’s voice came through strong and steady, reminding listeners that postpartum care extends far beyond the baby.
“Every mom’s experience is different,” she added. “But if there’s one thing I’ve learned after four births, it’s that what you say — or don’t say — can make all the difference.”
An Empowering Message
The episode quickly gained traction with both moms and parenting advocates, many applauding Kelly for using her platform to raise awareness about postpartum emotional support.
“I felt seen,” one listener commented on Instagram. “Thank you for saying what so many of us feel but don’t know how to express.”
With grace, humor, and hard-earned wisdom, Kelly Kelce continues to be a voice for real motherhood — reminding the world that behind every adorable newborn photo is a strong woman who deserves support, respect, and kindness.
